IX Center Bait and Switch Liquidation Sale
If Cleveland area residents don’t have enough to be upset about, those seeking great product deals at the IX Center instead became bait and switch victims (even if it was not intentional).
If you read this article, it will bring you up to speed on the troubling ordeal.
Living in the Cleveland Ohio market, I recall seeing all the hype on TV regarding the great deals on televisions, computers, and more. It turns out that the vendors selling these products were no shows at the sale. Needless to say, some people were just a little angry.
I previously purchased a computer at the IX Center from a similar liquidation sale. Granted, it has been over ten years ago. But I never had to pay for parking or admission. I can understand why these people are upset. Having to pay $8 to park and an $8 admission fee only to find out that the products advertised on television were not even there.
Fortunately IX Center officials decided to close the show, which is the first cancellation of a show that I can recall. And those that did complain were refunded their money. I wonder how many people left without any refund.
Once it was apparent vendors did not show up selling the items advertised on television, they should have immediately cancelled the show. Let’s hope in the future they will learn from this mistake.
