While thousands of families in the United States are losing their homes and being left in the cold, the Federal Government is rushing to bail out the investment company Bear Stearns.

It’s quite clear where the government’s priorities are.  Ineffective programs created by the Federal Government are simply smoke screens to make it appear they are trying to help struggling homeowners.  While these homeowners lose their homes, Feds are opening up their wallets to prop up the same investment companies that profited from shattering the American dream of home ownership.

Here, you can read some of the stories told by struggling homeowners trying to get help from the Government.  Some homeowners, on the brink of losing their homes, were told they would receive a call back from the Hope Now Hotline only to never get called back.  Other homeowners were told no help was available to them because their homes were in foreclosure.  Yet others were told they could not be helped because their homes were not in foreclosure.

Meanwhile, the US Dollar is sinking to all time lows.  Some even believe that the global market will need to intervene to stop the free fall that is devastating the value of American currency.  It is thought that some foreign markets are investing in a currency other then the US dollar.  This will certainly hurt our economy as less countries finance the huge debts we are so inclined to assume.

The economic outlook of our country is rather bleak.  President Bush continues to push to make his tax cut policies permanent at a time when we see how his economic policies have devastated this country.  And sadly enough, Senator John McCain is beating the same tune on the same drum.  I wish these politicians would wake up and see that their economic policies have devastated our country and hurt families all across this nation.

With so many economic blunders, I believe the Republican Party will take a huge hit in the upcoming General Election.  Not that Democrats are saviours, but the bottom line is that the majority of citizens are much worse off today financially then they were seven years ago.  When push comes to shove, American’s will clean up Washington one vote at a time.
